Unicycling & Cal Football in Berkeley : After playing games at Tom and Nancy's house until after midnight on Friday, we got up at 7am and went for an early morning unicycle ride in Oakland. Then we hustled over to Memorial Stadium to watch the Bears take on the Washington Huskies. We finished up with a post-game party courtesy of Tom and Nancy on campus. Visiting the Grossmans in San Diego : We visited Paul, Bonnie and Laura in San Diego as a big part of our trip to participate in the 2008 California Mountain Unicycle Weekend. Somehow, they managed to order up the most incredible sunset we've seen in a long time. Add in some very nice relaxing time at their gorgeous home, a great dinner out, plus some unicycling and you have the recipe for an amazing long weekend!

Connecticut 2008 : After our trip to Sweden and Denmark in July and August 2008, we stopped off in Connecticut on the way home to visit some of our oldest friends, Jay, and Mischa and his family. Jay picked us up at the Newark Int'l Airport, whisked us around his adopted state, and dropped us off at JFK Int'l airport. Mischa introduced us to his wife Edina and baby Miklosh Ferenc, born March 5, 2008. It is beautiful in Connecticut in summer and we are so lucky to have such great friends there. Why is it so far from California?

Sweden 2008 : In July 2008, we spent a week in Sweden visiting our friends Thomas and family and playing as much disc golf as possible (5 of the 90 courses in Sweden!). We flew in to Copenhagen, Denmark, and drove up to Stockholm, staying overnight in Lund and then Norrköping. We had 3 great days of touristing and relaxing near Stockholm, then headed back to Copenhagen, spending a night in Kalmar on the way.

Japan to California, 1992 : Our Big Trip home from Japan in 1992. We left Tokyo on June 22, 1992 with a 4 1/2 month old little boy. Yokohama -> Vladivostok (boat) -> Irkutsk (train) -> Moscow (train/plane/train) -> Bucharest (train) -> Bulgaria (train) -> Istanbul (bus/boat) -> Venice (boat/train/boat) -> Switzerland -> Salzburg -> Prague -> Berlin -> Hamburg (train) -> England (boat) -> Los Angeles (plane) -> home (car). We arrived on Grace's birthday 8/23/1992 in the Bay Area with a bouncy 6 1/2 month old Beau. Wow!
