Zanzibar 2009 : After our Kenya/Tanzania Unicycle Tour, we took the ferry from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar and stayed a week. We became PADI certified scuba divers and had a real "vacation from our vacation". We flew back home in a 49 hour marathon trip, starting on our 25th wedding anniversary. Here is my detailed diary.

Africa Unicycle Tour 2009 : The 16 day tour was mostly offroad, riding about 550km out of a total of the 1200km from Nairobi, Kenya to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in June/July 2009. Here is my detailed diary. And my post-tour Zanzibar photos. Trip members: 6 unicyclists (honeymooners Corbin & Louise, Ozzies Geoff & Matt, Arizona gamesman Matthew plus unitour-fanatic Nathan), 4 bicyclists (three Brits: Sara, Eleanor and Tom, plus Grace on her offroad recumbent), 1 master guide (Kiwi John), 1 cook (Kiwi Tarn), and our excellent Kenyan driver, Joseph. The tour was run by Escape Adventures and I would highly recommend it to any cyclist. Photos: Out of over 7500 total, this selection is mostly mine, but has many great ones by other trip members. Laos Unicycle Tour Jan/Feb 2006 : The Laos Unicycle Tour (LUT) of Jan/Feb 2006 consisted of 19 unicyclist plus a guide from Grasshopper Adventures and a local staff (guide, two drivers and two helpers). While we did have a major disaster with Ken (the unicyclist organizer) breaking his leg badly halfway through the trip, overall the tour was a great success. Even though there were only 6 riding days, those days were quite strenuous and covered nearly 500km. In addition, we had two back-to-back days where we climbed a total of 2800m. These photos attempt to capture some of the amazing people and scenery of Laos as well as our riding experiences. I hope you like them. Alps Unicycle Tour, August 2005 : 10 unicyclists, 8 Alpine passes, 19 days, 565 miles, 44000' climbing, 7000 digital images. What an amazing trip! See the Official website too - about 450 images are up on the Daily Updates pages. Many of the trip members contributed photos. The ones I didn't take are marked with the photogrpaher's initials.
