California Mountain Unicycle Weekend 2008 : Another year, another great weekend. 2008 marked the 13th annual California Mountain Unicycle Weekend. It was held in San Diego for the first time ever. All in all, an awesome weekend, courtesy of our amazing 15 year old host, Miles (with lots of help from his parents). THANKS to everyone for making it such a memorable event. Unfortunately we had to miss out on the Friday dinner and the Sunday ride. Here are photos from the Friday afternoon ride at Elfin Forest, the Saturday morning ride at Iron Mountain, the Big Wheel Race, the Trials Competition and the Banquet and Award ceremoney. NAUCC 2008 in Rapid City, South Dakota : The North American Unicycle Championships and Convention for 2008 was held in Rapid City, South Dakota, and featured an unusually large amount of high-quality off road races and fun rides. It was really a great time. California Mountain Unicycle Weekend 2007 : The 12th annual California Mountain Unicycle Weekend gets off to a flying start - with a disc golf tournament on Thursday Oct 11, 2007 at De Laveaga Disc Golf Course in Santa Cruz. Competing were 6 teams of two players, one experienced and one beginner/intermediate. The winning team was Beau Hoover and Jim Sowers who scored 7 over par (91 shots for the 28 holes). Start of Day 2 (Friday) photos Muni and Big Wheel Racing, plus rides in the rain! Start of Day 3 (Saturday) photos Muni and Big Wheel rides, Trials Competiton, barbeque and awards ceremony Start of Day 4 (Sunday) photos Muni and Big Wheel rides, Trials by the jetty and a great dinner at Seabright Brewery.

2006 Berkeley Juggling/Unicycling festival and Mt Diablo Challange : The 2nd annual Brekeley Juggling and Unicycling Festival was Sept 29-Oct 1,2006. We attented on Saturday only, then competed in the 25th Annual Mt Diablo Challange on Sunday. This is a 10.8 mile road race that climbs 3300'. This year it sold out, with 1150 racers, 8 of whom were on unicycle. Here are the results for the top finishers. Unicyclists: Beau 1:22:30.7, 645th place Nathan 1:29:58.1, 724th place Rob 1:30:23.1, 730th place Steve 1:37:91.2, 796th place Kevin 1:41:35.1, 820th place Irene 1:47:20.9, 848th place Mike and Chris were unofficial renegades

11th Annual California Mountain Unicycle Weekend Sept 22-25, 2006 : Muni Weekend 2006 at Lake Tahoe! Since I missed the first year (1996) and 2001 due to no planes flying, this was my 9th California Mountain Unicycle Weekend. I think it may have been the best yet, with over 75 riders from many states and two provinces of Canada. Although we couldn't ride the Downieville Downhill due to a fire, Mr Toad's Wild Ride was a great replacement. The basic schedule was: Friday: Tahoe Rim Trail, about 12 miles Saturday: Hole-In-The-Ground Trail, about 3 miles, Trials competition, Picnic dinner/awards celebration Sunday: Mr Toad's Wild Ride, about 12 miles Monday: we did a 20 mile ride in the Santa Cruz area with 7 riders. Mondo in Minnesota 2/24-26/2006 : The Mondo Juggling and Unicycling Festival in St Paul, Minnesota is a huge festival which is about 50% juggling and 50% unicycling. For someone like me who enjoys both, this makes for one awesome weekend. Add a wonderful set of hosts and friends from many places and you've got one fantastic 3-day trip. It turns out that cold Minnesota weather isn't really that bad either.

1st Annual Berkeley Juggling and Unicycling Festival October 8-9, 2005 : October 8-9, 2005: a weekend of fun in Berkeley, California. Besides juggling, juggling workshops and a great Public Show, there were a couple of Muni rides, an 8 mile "distance ride" - complete with rolling sound system from Critical Mass, and many unicycle games. A great time was had by all. Thanks to Tom Holub and all the other volunteers who put this great festival together. With well over 200 participants in its first year, this festival will grow and be a huge success. Photos by John Foss
